Physics teacher Jim Sherred of Tech Boston Academy in Dorchester, MA, teaches his 9th grade students about potential energy using online physics simulators known as "gizmos." By manipulating virtual objects and observing the effects, students make the abstract concept of potential energy real. Resources include a transcript of the video and a lesson plan.
