TimelineJS is an open-source tool that enables anyone to build visually rich, interactive timelines. If you are a beginner, you can create a timeline using nothing more than a Google spreadsheet.
Simply copy and paste the Google Spreadsheet on your Google Drive. Then, you can drop dates, texts and links to media in the appropriate columns. You can pull media from a variety of resources such as Twitter, Flickr, YouTube, Vimeo, Vine, Dailymotion, Google Maps, Wikipedia, SoundCloud, Document Cloud and more! Then, you only publish to web and get your link or your embed code to use it!
