Education Technology Industry Network and StartEd Will Host Ed Tech Growth Event in New York
October 4, 2018 (Washington, D.C. and New York, NY) — The Education Technology Industry Network (ETIN) of the Software Information Industry Association (SIIA), the largest non-profit software industry policy and advocacy association, announced today a partnership with StartEd Inc., a New York hub for ed tech innovation, to bring education industry insiders, investors, and mid- and large-scale education companies together with education startups at the Education Business Forum (EBF) on November 27 and 28 in New York.
The 2018 EBF is the 15 annual installment of the ed tech event focused on industry trends, legislation and policy impact, professional development, networking, and investment in education technology. The theme of this year’s forum is “Conquering the Challenge of Scale in Ed Tech.”
In November of 2018, the Education Business Forum (EBF) moves from its previous venue in Washington, D.C., to New York, and hosts more than 200 regional and national ed tech companies. The event will feature an Innovation Showcase, which will highlight 15 startup companies that will be announced on November 1, 2018.
Ken Wasch, the president of SIIA, remarked, “The Education Technology Industry Network of SIIA has partnered with StartEd to bring the knowledge and expertise of hundreds of established ed tech players together with the innovation and excitement of StartEd accelerator companies and alumni for two days of unparalleled networking and growth opportunities at the 2018 Education Business Forum.”
Ash Kaluarachchi, the co-founder of StartEd, Inc. and the producer of NY EdTech Week, said, “This will be a can’t-miss event. It brings together the StartED Network—the strongest network of seasoned ed tech investors, innovators, and educators in the world—with the deep knowledge and expertise of the SIIA membership. Attracting and developing ed tech companies at various stages of maturity is one of the most powerful ways to foster and scale innovation and creativity.”
