Shelby City School District, located in Shelby, Ohio consists of four elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. While the district’s Web site offers the typical kinds of general information one expects to find on this kind of site, there are three resources available that make it noteworthy: Viking Treasure Chest; Shelby School Calendaring; and Teacher Resources.
How to use the site:
Viking Treasure Chest, created by North Canton City Schools, is a collection of teacher-suggested Web-based resources aligned to the Ohio Academic Content Standards. Click on the link called Gems vs. Junk, a simple guide for identifying really good Internet sites. The Shelby School Calendaring area is a great tool for parents with children attending multiple schools. On this one page parents can access master and special calendars for each school in the district. Finally, the Teacher Resources section features online tutorials and some nicely organized illustrated FAQ sheets for both Mac and PC users.
