Games on Graphs
published
A great way to make math fun for your elementary students. This interesting game from the Los Alamos National Laboratory MegaMath site uses stories, a graph, and students to act as characters from the stories. Suggestions are made for ideas for discussion, how to extend the game, and how to use different graphs to make the game more difficult. Your students will understand the concept of distance in a graph by the time they are finished. If you want to use this as a small group activity, you can make the graphs on a game board rather than drawn on the classroom floor.
