American High, which documented student life at a high school in Illinois for a year, was a program broadcast on PBS over ten years ago. Video that followed individual students is still available. The site includes lesson plans and a teacher’s guide that provides instruction on how to produce video diaries. This particular lesson gives very detailed procedures on how to achieve the video concepts that are set out for this lesson. In addition there is a checklist for assessment purposes and extension activities. If you are involved in video production, this is a great lesson for your high school students.
