Authentic Writing and Math Problem-Solving Using Shopping Lists

This lesson plan from ReadWriteThink teaches problem-solving, budgeting, and even revising skills. Included is a suggested price list for items to be sold at the class “store,” a form for creating the shopping list, and a list of book titles that would be appropriate to use with the lesson. There is even a worksheet for the students to use for their reflections about the lesson. This is a real world writing project which includes math and economics.
