Xello Launches K-5 Solution for College, Career and Future Readiness
Xello, the K-12 college, career, and future readiness program, today announced the addition of Xello for Elementary. Created to engage elementary aged students, Xello for Elementary aims to encourage self-discovery, create career awareness and nurture future-readiness skills.
Xello for Elementary employs these tactics to give students an early start in becoming future ready:
- Encouraging Self-Discovery: Students celebrate what makes them unique by identifying their interests, skills, and achievements
- Creating Career Awareness: Through self-directed explorations, students discover and learn about a variety of careers.
- Nurturing Future-Readiness Skills: Students acquire age-appropriate skills and knowledge needed to smoothly transition from elementary to middle school.
- Exploring Options, Building Knowledge: Students define their interests, skills, and aspirations while learning about career possibilities and educational pathways.
- Identifying Goals, Self-Reflecting: Students identify their goals and have the opportunity to build on the knowledge acquired at each age and stage.
“The early years are absolutely critical in helping students discover their strengths and interests. One of the goals in our school district was to find a solution that would provide students with engaging resources for exploring their goals,” said Dana Jackson, Executive Director of Counseling Services at Grand Prairie Independent School District. “While most college and career readiness tools only focus on middle and high school, Xello has filled the gap with their new Xello for Elementary product and we’re looking forward to offering our K-5 students a well-rounded, engaging experience.”
Xello for Elementary is available in English and Spanish in the U.S. In Canada, it’s available in English and French. These options allow students to learn in their preferred language. The program has been tested with educators to ensure that it fulfills age-appropriate learning objectives and includes lessons that align with regional and national learning objectives, like the ASCA Mindsets & Behavior Standards for Student Success. The program is fully accessible, exceeding WCAG 2.0 accessibility standards, and built with original content written at a third-grade reading level.
