Students around the United States are putting their spelling skills to the test in Word Mania USA online literacy competition.
Students around the United States are putting their spelling skills to the test in Word Mania USA online literacy competition.
Created by LiteracyPlanet, Word Mania challenges students to create as many words as they can in three minutes from 15 letter tiles.
The word building supports a range of crucial literacy skills including language units like affixes and plurals (morphemes), word recognition, vocabulary and word knowledge.
Schools can register now for free at https://www.wordmania.com/us/register/ and will have up until March 1 to sharpen their skills as part of the practice round.
The Competition Round runs from March 4 to March 8, with the top performing schools competing in the finals, which run from March 13 to March 15.
