Woodlands Online, CISD Partner to Broadcast Varsity Sports This Fall
Woodlands Online announced it has entered into a broadcast partnership with Conroe Independent School District (CISD) to offer live streaming of athletic events, beginning with the 2014-15 school year.
The 2014-15 broadcasts will feature College Park High School, Oak Ridge High School and The Woodlands High School varsity athletics and will be available on Woodlands Online live and On Demand. The broadcasts will begin with high school varsity volleyball and football in the fall.
A primary component of the Woodlands Online and CISD partnership includes a capstone broadcasting class for local high school students, providing them with hands-on experience while earning class credit. Advanced broadcast students will learn the production and direction skills necessary, such as instant replay and multiple camera angles, to execute a quality sports broadcast, while learning from both their teachers and the Woodlands Online team.
"These broadcasts will showcase the talent of our local athletes as well as the innovation of broadcast students and our Woodlands Online sports team, " said Jessica Fraser, CEO of Woodlands Online. "Plus, the community as a whole should really enjoy the ability to view live stream games of their favorite local high school teams."
A tentative broadcast schedule for volleyball and football will be announced later this summer.
