What To Do with Old Textbooks?
published
As more schools go digital, what happens to all of the old textbooks? According to a new study by the National Wildlife Federation, almost 40 percent of K-12 and higher education schools are storing or throwing away textbooks. These statistics inspired a new collaborative project to study textbook recycling by the National Wildlife Federation, McGraw-Hill, and NewPage Corporation. The intent of the report is to highlight the life cycle of textbooks and to provide recommendations on how to establish textbook recycling programs in schools and communities.
