Vision K-20 Survey Results Are In

At ISTE 2011, the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) revealed preliminary results from its fourth annual Vision K-20 Survey, designed to help educators monitor their institution’s progress at achieving the Vision for K-20. Here are preliminary highlights:

¦ Based on 273 early responders, average scores for achieving the Vision’s seven goals ranged from 55 to 66 percent for K-12 districts.

¦ Average scores for meeting the five measures of progress ranged from 45 to 67 percent.

¦ The two benchmarks with the highest level of achievement included security tools to protect student data and privacy (85 vs. 84 percent) and the availability of highspeed broadband access for robust communication, administrative and instructional needs (85 vs 84 percent).

Final results were released July 27 (after this issue went to press).
