StudySync, Global Press Partner to Provide International News to Students
“As educators, we want their voices to not only be heard but to be steeped in factual information – not memes and misinformation," said Robert Romano, CEO of StudySync.
Today, StudySync® announced a content partnership with media organization Global Press. Through the partnership, StudySync will incorporate news coverage from local journalists in the least-covered parts of the world into its SyncBlasts™ for Social Studies and SyncBlasts™ for Science products as part of its ongoing mission to bring relevant, high-quality content to middle and high school students.
Journalists are trained by Global Press Institute and then employed by the Global Press Journal, a multi-lingual news publication, to produce daily news coverage. Their news is syndicated globally via Global Press News Service to reach more than 20 million people every month.
SyncBlasts provides daily articles written at multiple Lexile® levels that aim to make meaningful connections between Social Studies and Science topics and today’s world. The program offers a variety of rich multimedia including original audio and video resources such as “The Point” news show, preview videos, and multimedia explainers that engage students in topics that are relevant to their studies and their everyday lives. Teachers leverage the power of social learning in a safe, mediated environment that uses a library of articles produced by StudySync and real journalists throughout the world through partnerships with trusted organizations such as Global Press, Reuters, and News Literacy Project. Scaffolded instruction ensures that English learners and approaching grade-level learners can access every lesson.
