Promethean to Supply Interactive Board Technology & Training in Miami-Dade
Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho has announced that Miami-Dade County Public Schools, the nation’s fourth largest school district, has selected Promethean as the exclusive supplier of interactive boards for over 10,000 classrooms currently without interactive board capability. As a part of a district-wide digital transformation initiative, over 10,000 Miami-Dade classrooms will soon feature one of Promethean’s new ActivBoard Touch systems. Additionally, Promethean will implement an 18-month professional development program designed to help Miami-Dade Public School educators unite their curricula and teaching styles with Promethean’s solutions.
"Technology is vitally important to the process of educating our students," said Superintendent Carvalho. "The technology offered here will give our teachers the opportunity to share a myriad of educational resources with students. We are proud to work with Promethean in providing this outstanding educational enhancement to our students."
The Promethean ActivBoard Touch brings together touch interactivity and Promethean’s software to facilitate engaging learning experiences. The ActivBoard Touch allows two students or a teacher and student contribute to the lesson simultaneously. ActivBoard Touch installations will begin later this month and will be complete prior to the beginning of the 2014-15 academic school year.
