Open Technologies in K-12 Education
published
At a recent technology task force meeting, a business representative asked what plans the district has for using open technologies. Although IT staff has mentioned this idea, no one took it seriously, until now. Is there a resource we can use to learn more about use of open technologies in education?
The Consortium for School Networking (CoSN) recently launched the K-12 Open Technologies website, part of a Leadership Initiative, sponsored by IBM and the Wm. & Flora Hewlett Foundation. Visit the site to access basic, practical information about what open technologies are, how they can be used in education, questions to ask before adopting open technologies, and more.
