LanSchool Tech Console Now Included with LanSchool Classroom Management Software
Stoneware, Inc., provider of cross-platform classroom management software, announced that it will be including the LanSchool Tech Console as part of its LanSchool Classroom Management software. The Tech Console provides desktop management tools for tech coordinators/lab managers, and the LanSchool Teacher Console will continue to provide the latest tools to help teachers teach in a 21st century classroom.
“The inclusion of the Tech Console in LanSchool v7.6 demonstrates our commitment to offer a single product that provides the best value for both techs and teachers,” said Ben Cahoon, President of Stoneware. “We hope that techs will love the Tech Console as much as teachers love LanSchool.”
The Tech Console allows techs to perform the following functions across Macs and PCs:
- View and enable security settings
- View and enable patch management for the OS
- Distribute software over the network
- View hardware and software inventory
- Provide support through Remote Control and Chat
- Save power by viewing and setting power profiles
- Report on technology usage (web and applications)
- Prevent cyber-bullying and monitor computer use
- Send out school-wide emergency messages
- Send and retrieve files
- Remotely login computers
- Remotely control Windows™ SteadyState® disk protection
- Update LanSchool student and teacher software
The combined products will be available at the end of February. Existing customers that have a current support contract for LanSchool v7.6 will receive the new functionality at no additional charge. New customers that purchase LanSchool 7.6 will also receive the Tech Console for free as part of their LanSchool v7.6 license.
