Ten K-12 teachers will each be awarded a complete class set of Qwizdom Q3 IR or Q4 RF wireless response devices through Qwizdom Interactive Tools for Teaching Grants. Applicants must explain in 300 words or less how they would use Qwizdom in their classrooms or school libraries to engage, motivate, or assess students. Deadline: May 26, 2006

Target's Arts and Reading Grants provide $1,000 to $3,000 to support K-12 programs in the fine arts and reading. Applications are made through local Target stores. More details are available online. Deadline: May 31, 2006

Samsung and Microsoft are cosponsoring the annual Hope for Education Essay Contest. Legal U.S. residents may nominate their local school for an award by writing and submitting online a 100-word essay. The grand prize is $200,000 in technology and software. Thirty first-prize winners receive $60,000 in technology and software. Deadline: June 30, 2006

The American Honda Foundation awards grants to K-12 schools to support programs that focus on youth and scientific education.

One-time grants typically range from $10,000-$100,000. Multiple year grants range from $40,000-$80,000 per year. Awards are made on a quarterly basis. Deadline: July 1, 2006
