Classroom teachers, media specialists, and other school-based educators who use online sharing activities may be nominated for the Global SchoolNet Foundation's GSN Online Shared Learning Award. Each winner receives $2,500 and an expense-paid trip to the 2006 NECC Conference in San Diego. Deadline: Jan. 27, 2006

The National School and Business Partnerships Award, sponsored by the Council for Corporate and School Partnerships, recognizes exemplary partnerships between schools and businesses. Six schools or districts each receive $10,000 to support partnership efforts. Deadline: Jan. 30, 2006

Up to ten after-school or out-of-school programs will win Coming Up Taller Awards from the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities. This recognition includes a $10,000 prize. Deadline: Jan. 30, 2006

Students in grades 4-8 can participate in the Challenger Center for Space Science Education's annual Space Day Design Challenge. All challenges are standards-based and interdisciplinary. Winners receive national recognition during the Space Day Opening Ceremony in Washington, D.C. Deadline: Feb. 1, 2006
