Elsa Eiriksdottir is a graduate student in engineering psychology at Georgia Tech who works in the Problem Solving and Educational Technology Lab. Her focus is on understanding the capabilities and limitations of human performance from the perspective of perception, cognition, and movement control and applying this knowledge to the design of systems and environments that accommodate those capabilities and limitations. Her dissertation examines the role of providing principles in instructions for procedural tasks, with a goal of uncovering how the learning situation and instructional materials can be constructed to create conditions where principles enhance learning and transfer.
