DreamBox Learning Launches Middle School Math Curriculum
DreamBox Learning (www.dreambox.com) today announced the availability of DreamBox Learning Math for Middle School, an expanded curriculum offering with more than 350 new lessons designed for students in grades 6-8.
DreamBox Learning Math for Middle School includes topics such as ratios, geometry, one-variable equations and basic functions, aligned to the Common Core domains and clusters.
“Middle school is a particularly difficult transition in math as algebra has typically been a ‘gatekeeper’ subject where students can’t simply rely on tricks and memorized procedures,” said Dr. Tim Hudson, senior curriculum director for DreamBox Learning. “A deep understanding of algebra concepts establishes part of the essential foundation students need to be successful in mathematics and science. Developing algebraic habits of mind enables students to model situations and work with information they know in order to solve for what they don’t know.”
DreamBox Learning Math for Middle School is available now for implementation at the start of the 2014-2015 school year. For more information, visit http://www.dreambox.com/sixth-grade-math-lessons.
