Question: I am seeing a “cyclic redundancy check†error message on my computer. What does this mean?
The IT Guy says:
A cyclic redundancy check is a mathematical procedure used to verify data reliability and integrity. For more technical information on this procedure, refer to the online encyclopedia Wikipedia’s entry “CyclicRedundancy Check.†Depending upon what operating system version you are using, a wide variety of circumstances could cause this error message to be displayed. I recommend that you search Microsoft’s Help and Support for the phrase “cyclic redundancy check†and look for an entry in the Microsoft Knowledge base that relates to your operating system and program(s) you are using when this error is presented.
