In December 2009, scientists and world leaders are meeting in Copenhagen, Denmark, to discuss climate change and to decide what countries should do to address this problem. ePals is asking students around the world to address these leaders by hosting the Students Speak! Contest: Countdown to Copenhagen on the ePals Team Earth focus area.
The contest encourages students to answer these questions via song, poem or speech:
-- What would you say to these world leaders about climate change?
-- What actions would you ask them to take?
-- What would you want them to know about what students think?
-- What matters to you about climate change, forests, energy, and global cooperation?
Due Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, submissions may be uploaded to the ePals Team Earth Focus Area in one of three formats: a one- minute or shorter audio or video file, a 200-word submission, or a 7-slide or fewer PowerPoint Presentation.
Winning entries will be compiled and shared with world leaders at the Copenhagen Climate Conference in December 2009.
