ConnectED Month Launches
Richard Culatta
Is everyone ready for Connected Educators month starting October 1? Of course you are! Last year, the DOE hosted daily online conversations about all things edtech. This year, the event is being run under the auspices of interim director of edtech Richard Culatta, who spoke with T&L managing editor Christine Weiser at our most recent SchoolCIO Summit. He said of the event: “Last year, nearly 100,000 hours of professional development were completed virtually through Connected Educator Month. I hope this year we have significantly more. Last year, most teachers were doing this event on their own. This year, we really hope schools step up and make time for their teachers to participate together.”
Only a small handful of the events during Connected Educators Month are hosted by the Department of Education—the rest are curated from a wide variety of sources. Tune in to our free offering on October 18, where we will be broadcasting three Livestream panel discussions from our New York Tech Forum.
