Hitachi America, Ltd. Digital Media Division, Business Solutions Group today announced that Cambridge Rindge and Latin School has installed 90 Hitachi CP-DW10N 3LCD projectors, sold and installed by AdTech Systems of Sudbury, Massachusetts. The CP-DW10N short-throw projector offers features designed for educational presentations on interactive whiteboards.
Located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School (CRLS) is a high school divided into four Learning Communities designed to promote high levels of learning and achievement for all students. The mission of Cambridge Rindge and Latin School is to provide high-quality education to every student through rigorous, comprehensive and personalized teaching and learning in a nurturing and respectful environment.
CRLS offers an innovative approach to education, such as its 4 x 4 Block Schedule with four 84-minute periods each day and two 90-day semesters each year. The school prides itself on its state-of-the-art facilities for a wide range of career and technical programs, and this year the school decided to upgrade its presentation facilities to include video projectors.
AdTech Systems of Sudbury, Massachusetts, installed the CP-DW10N projectors in every classroom at the school.
“We needed a high-quality, short-throw projector with HDMI connectivity, and after looking at the available options, the CP-DW10N met our requirements,” said Jason Graham, Senior Technician at CRLS. “I was pleasantly surprised by some of the projector’s useful features, such as the audio pass-through function that lets you listen to audio through external speakers, even when the projector is on standby.”
The Hitachi CP-DW10N features a short-throw distance of 37 inches and can project a diagonal image of up to 84 inches, making it a good fit for smaller rooms and interactive whiteboard applications. It can be controlled via a LAN network connection, providing the ability to network, control and maintain the projector from a remote location. The network functionality can control multiple projectors in different rooms, and monitor parameters such as remaining lamp life.
The CP-DW10N offers WXGA (1280 x 800) native resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio for compatibility with widescreen laptop computers. It includes a Template function that displays lines, circles or a world map, making it easier to write on an interactive whiteboard; MyMemory, MyText, MySource and MyScreen buttons for fast remote-control access to frequently used functions and sources; a Messenger function that transmits text data from a remote computer via the network connection for school notifications and news; a built-in audio amplifier and many additional features.
