CAB Files
Question: I would like to load WIN ME Cab files to the hard drive for an upgrade from Win98. What is the best folder name to save to and How do I install from WINME CD to hard drive.
The IT Guy says:
I do not think the name of the folder really matters. You can use any name you want but create the directory at the root of your hard drive. Use 8 characters or less and no special characters, of course. Copy all the cabinet (.CAB) files and installation programs from the Windows Me CD to the directory you created. At a DOS prompt, type the following: COPY source_cd:\win9x\*.* c:\winMe where source_CD is the letter of the CD or DVD drive of your computer, and c:\winMe is the directory that you made previously.
