Nureva to Show New Classroom Collaboration System at ISTE
Nureva Inc., an early-stage technology company, will show a new classroom collaboration concept system at ISTE education conference and trade show.
With the system, students can explore learning topics as individuals or small groups using Nureva’s collaboration software on tablets or other devices, then share their ideas from their device to the large front-of-classroom display. Once on the display, students can collaborate to organize, refine and expand on the work as a class or in smaller learning groups. The dual model system includes two panoramic projectors installed side-by-side to create a 20'-wide (6.1 m) collaboration space that is 245" (6.2 m) on the diagonal. The images from the two projectors are melded into one image via the image-alignment module included in the system.
Multiple types of digital artifacts can be created on a personal device or at the canvas:
- Note – A digital 3" x 5" (7.6 x 12.7 cm) sticky note allows students to enter up to four lines of text
- Page – A digital 8.5" x 11" (21.6 x 27.9 cm) page for sketching and wire-framing comes with three different ink colors and an eraser
- Folio –A large digital 32" x 42" (81.3 x 106.7 cm) flip chart for capturing notes and questions comes with three different ink colors, a highlighter and an eraser
- Image –Students can post images to the canvas, then manipulate them
