Today's Newsletter: The Big Picture, and Big Bucks, of Edtech
What do Common , Arne Duncan, and Sir Richard Branson have in, well, common? All three were roughing it this week at The Phoenician Resort for the ASU+GSV Global Summit 2015 , as they participated in a slew of lectures and panels on the future possibilities of edtech, and, presumably, the benefit for students. Now in its sixth year, the event has swollen from the gobs of investment monies pushing into the edtech market. I’m sure my invite just got lost in the mail but I did follow the blogs, Tweets, and streams coming out of Scottsdale, AZ. Here’s a short list: Betsy Corcoran at Edsurge, which is supported in part by Summit host GSV Capital, supplies us with her reporter’s notebook. The New York Times gives a more distant observation of the proceedings here. And Education Week details one theme of the Summit—Learning Equity. We’ll be sure to track any concrete advances on that topic that may spring from this week’s conversation. —Kevin Hogan, Content Director
