Learning Bird Elects Kecia Ray to its Board of Directors
Dr. Kecia Campbell-Ray, executive director of Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools Learning Technology, and president of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE)Board of Directors, has been elected to the Learning Bird Board of Directors.
In her full-time position with Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools in Hermitage, Tenn., Dr. Ray oversees planning and administration of the district’s virtual school, blending learning, online professional development and instructional technology integration. In June 2013, she took the helm of the ISTE board.
“Because of my work in online and blended learning—as well as flexible learning environments—I was immediately fascinated with Learning Bird and its potential to help students succeed through its unique method of differentiation,” Dr. Ray said. “The program also gives back to teachers, which is a wonderful plus in today's teaching environments.”
Learning Bird is a cloud-based differentiated learning application that crowd-sources digital lessons made by teachers and aligns them to their local curriculum, grade level and books in order to match them to students based on their needs.
