Teach for the Planet Challenge Open Through March 11
DonorsChoose.org is holding its first project-based challenge. The goal of the campaign is to encourage educators to develop their best ideas for teaching environmental sustainability in the classroom. The challenge is now entering the final public voting stage and 12 finalists will be competing for $40,000 in prizes. Through March 11, 2015, teachers and students will be mobilizing their networks to vote for their project at bit.ly/TeachPlanet01.
The Teach for the Planet Challenge, a partnership between DonorsChoose.org and the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation, supports and recognizes teachers who are creating innovative sustainability oriented classroom projects across the country. The challenge demonstrates a new approach to leveraging the available charitable funds in education – channeling them toward teacher needs and also fulfilling imperatives for improving educational methods.
