Channel One News Launches Searchable Video Library

Channel One News, a Houghton Mifflin Harcourt company, today announced the launch of the Channel One News Video Library, a searchable database of nonfiction videos and interactive activities tied to current events.

The Channel One News Video Library includes:

· 2,200 Channel One News video segments, searchable by grade, subject area and keywords

· 1,200 video transcripts

· Interactive, standards-aligned content including slideshows, timelines, discussion questions, writing prompts and quizzes. Each piece of content is searchable by subject, grade level and topics such as geography, college and career readiness, the environment, STEM, politics and health. Educators can also filter results by skills and strategies such as critical thinking, compare and contrast, problem solving and cause and effect.

Later this fall, Channel One News will roll out themed content packages covering significant news events, like 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, climate change, the Constitution and the life and death of Nelson Mandela.
