EdTrips Organizes “Field Trip in Orbit” for Boston Students
EdTrips announced today an initiative to encourage students to pursue careers in STEM by providing Boston schools with free field trips in STEM-related topics. As part of this initiative, EdTrips is organizing a field trip for five public school students who will take a ride on Virgin Galactic, the space tourism program offered by Virgin Group.
The winners are five students from Massachusetts public schools who will take one of the early suborbital flights once availability is confirmed. Virgin Galactic is a commercial spaceflight company which plans to provide suborbital spaceflights to space tourists and suborbital launches for space science missions. Over 600 “budding astronauts,” mostly adults, are currently signed up to travel on orbital and suborbital flights.
