Knox County, Ill., Wins Two Separate Technology Sweepstakes
What are the chances that both the local elementary school and county government in rural Knox County, Ill., would win grand-prize technology packages in separate national sweepstakes? The probability of winning both contests is 1 in 3,781,875.
Despite the odds, Knox County accomplished the near impossible, winning grand prize technology packages in both the Win a Wireless Lab and Win a Technology Center sweepstakes.
Mable Woolsey Elementary School’s prize package includes 36 tablet computers, an interactive whiteboard, student response system, printer, document camera and a $5,000 Discovery Education digital media grant. CDW-G and Discovery Education also provided on-site training.
The Knox County Government won a grand prize technology package valued at more than $20,000, which includes 25 tablet computers, wireless access points, tablet cart, interactive whiteboard and vote set, laser printer, conference phone, document camera and one large-format display with supporting accessories.
