$20,000 technology prize package awarded to 51 schools
Samsung today announced the 51 state winners in the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow Contest, designed to raise interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) learning. Each winner will receive Samsung products and Adobe software to compete in the next phase of the competition as well as a total of at least $20,000 in technology.
Chosen from more than 2,300 applicants, these schools represent all 50 states and DC, and will advance to the next round of the contest where they’ll submit a video of their proposed STEM learning project – everything from finding the safest routes to school in an urban community to reducing pollution with bicycles made from bamboo. From there, 15 national finalists will be awarded a $35,000 tech prize package, and the 5 grand winners – one decided by public vote – will receive a $140,000 tech prize package.
