New game puts modern twist on ancient math system
published
Dig-It! Games, an independent developer of educational, interactive games founded by a former archaeologist and middle school teacher, announces its latest release, MayaNumbers, a new math app that challenges players’ math skills while teaching the ancient Maya’s revolutionary number system.
Designed for children in grades 5-9, MayaNumbers immerses players in the base 20 Maya number system. Players use the symbols for the three Maya digits, a shell for zero, a dot for 1 and a line for 5, in a race against the clock to convert randomly generated numbers into ancient Mayan glyphs.
