The VHS Collaborative selects Genius SIS
The Virtual High School (VHS) Collaborative (http://thevhscollaborative.org), the nonprofit provider of K-12 online learning, today announced that it has selected and implemented Genius Student Information System (SIS). VHS has deployed Genius to help serve a rapidly growing student population, making it possible for students to self-enroll in VHS online courses and for VHS Site Coordinators worldwide to register students more efficiently.
In addition to simplifying registration, Genius also provides VHS with rich data analytics relative to students, courses and schools and on-demand reporting. In the coming months, the organization will integrate it with the Desire2Learn platform and will streamline the way teachers submit term grades, which will result in efficiencies for teachers, coordinators and staff.
VHS’ design and delivery standard was the model used by the National Education Association in their recommended standards for online learning. The organization has won the Stockholm Challenge Award for Global Excellence in Information Technology and is a three-time winner of the United States Distance Learning Association’s (USDLA) award for Excellence in Programming and Excellence in Best Practices.
