ISTE 2013 News: Learning.com Launches "Inquiry," with project-based approach
Learning.com introduces Inquiry, a project-based approach to integrating technology into core instruction.
Developed for K-8 students and created to support Common Core State Standards, Inquiry includes six core curriculum projects per grade level. Each project is based on a theme that continues from grade to grade, building on previously acquired subject-area knowledge and technology skills.
Inquiry provides ready-to-use projects with pre-tests to identify digital literacy strengths or areas for additional instruction. Next, the students receive interactive, self-paced lessons based on the pre-test results. Students complete the projects by conducting research, creating digital media and giving peer presentations. A final self-analysis helps each student reflect on what he or she has learned. Teachers can track individual progress throughout the project and record final work in a comprehensive online grade book.
