Free webinar explores online delivery for occupational therapy in schools
To help school leaders learn about the use of web technology to improve access to occupational therapy (OT) services, PresenceLearning, provider of online speech therapy services for K-12 students, is hosting a free webinar on Tuesday, February 5th at 1 pm ET (10 am PT). Titled “Online Occupational Therapy: Really?!”, the webinar will explore the use of teletherapy to help meet the growing need for schools to provide clinical services such as OT for special needs students. To register for the webinar, visit http://pages.presencelearning.com/spedahead9.
PresenceLearning’s OT services help students with a variety of different diagnoses—including, but not limited to, autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, learning disabilities, attention deficit disorder, speech or language impairment, and sensory processing disorder—make progress on their goals. During online OT sessions, the therapist, along with an on-site aide, works with students using basic and inexpensive materials such as pens, paper, dried pasta and other items to engage students and teach functional skills such as posture, tracking skills related to reading and writing, handwriting, keyboarding, cutting, and attention related to sensory processing.
