"If We Were President” Contest Announced
WeAreTeachers and Pearson have launched the "If We Were President" contest, which asks students to collaborate to create a project, in any media, outlining what the entire class would do if they were president. Pearson's K-12 Teach the Election 2012 and the Online Learning Exchange Election Series sites offers teachers and students free election resources, activity packs, and interactive programs mapped to social studies standards to support students as they work on their project.
Five classrooms will be chosen as finalists; their projects will be posted on the WeAreTeachers site for teachers and students to view and vote on. The winning classroom will receive an "Inauguration Party" (possibly including a visit from past presidents!) and the winning teacher will get $500 and a new iPad 2.
Classrooms must enter by October 18. For more information, visit http://www.weareteachers.com/grants-contests/sweepstakes/pearson-election.
