PBS KIDS PLAY! adds lessons, tools
Tribal Nova, in collaboration with PBS and its panel of childhood development and education experts, has added new lessons and administrative tools to the PBS KIDS PLAY! Classroom Edition.
PBS KIDS PLAY! is an adaptive, online learning program using interactive games and content for preschool, kindergarten and first-grade classrooms. The cross-curricular program adapts the level of challenge based on students’ individual learning progress in 35 skill areas. The content aligns to Common Core State Standards and McREL Benchmarks, covering language development, literacy, math, science, healthy development, social studies, creativity, and thinking skills. Students have access to more than 150 PBS KIDS episodes on demand and can choose among 56 exclusive games that adapt to their skill level.
Through the “Teachers Center" tool, educators can print classroom activities and lesson plans, assign activities to a class, group or individual, and track individual student and class progress in each skill area. The program is certified SMART™ Board compatible, runs in Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari, and supports Mac OS X and Windows 7, XP, and Vista operating systems.
