Digital Curriculum to Meet Common Core State Standards
Forty-five states and the District of Columbia, have announced their adoption of the Common Core State Standards affecting 90 percent of the nation’s students. Apex Learning announced today new online courses designed around the Common Core State Standards in math and English language arts.
Like all Apex Learning online courses, the new math and English language arts courses based on the Common Core State Standards will be designed to take full advantage of technology and media to engage students in active learning and support all students in mastering rigorous content.
During the 2012–2013 school year, Apex Learning will deliver English I, the first course based on the Common Core State Standards, followed by English II, III, and IV and Algebra I and II, Geometry and a fourth year math course.
In addition to the new Common Core courses, Apex Learning will further expand its course catalog for the 2012–2013 academic year. Apex Learning will add Spanish III and Physics to meet the requirements of certain states for high school graduation as well as college entrance criteria. Liberal Arts Math, a course designed specifically to meet the state of Florida’s requirements and that can also serve as an elective course, will be added expanding the existing course catalog to nearly 200 semester courses.
