Letters alive™ is a supplemental reading curriculum that uses augmented reality to create an interactive learning experience with 3D animals and letters. Aligned with Common Core State Standards, Letters alive has been implemented in general education, ESL, and special education classes. The system includes 26 augmented reality letter/animal cards, 94 sight word cards, a year of lessons, stories, and student activities to teach elementary level students the fundamentals of reading.
"Augmented reality" is a view of the real world that has been augmented in real time with computer-generated imagery. In Letters alive, when the camera tracks on the image of a letter on the letter card, the software recognizes that image and transmits a 3-dimensional animation of the animal associated with that image.
