Today's Newsletter: Teachers Need to be Digital Citizens Too
Now that we’re ten years on after the advent of the iPhone and sundry social media applications, I would like to think teachers, if not students, have figured out the proper behavior surrounding their use. But as the comedian Ron White says, “You can’t fix stupid.” Just a cursory scroll through the Tech&Learning newsfeed this month uncovers the unfortunate evidence: This former River Valley High School social studies teacher in Ohio just had his license suspended for cyberstalking a student; This New Jersey teacher was apparently unaware of YouTube when she confronted her class to, “Speak American”; and these two gems were arrested for creating obscene Snapchats in a daycare center.
