IDEA Public Schools in the San Antonio, Austin, and Rio Grande Valley regions of Texas is renewing its commitment to video-powered professional learning for principals through its ongoing partnership with Edthena. During the 2017-18 school year and beyond, IDEA will use the Edthena video coaching platform as part of its Principal in Residence (PIR) program, a multi-year professional learning experience.
With the Edthena platform, educators can upload videos of their practices from any video camera and then share those videos with coaches and colleagues who provide timestamped comments categorized as questions, suggestions, strengths, and notes. The platform enables educators and coaches to participate in collaborative professional learning cycles and engage in ongoing dialogue about instructional best practices.
