Participate Launches New App to Customize Twitter for Teachers
Participate has launched a new app called Participate Chats, which gives teachers a mobile way to use Twitter to find relevant education chats and connect with educators around the world.
“Participate Chats lets me find a topic I’m interested chatting about on Twitter, follow the discussion or pause the discussion, and automatically build a collection of resources mentioned in the education chat. It’s like a DVR for Twitter chats,” said Keith George, an education technology specialist for the Alabama Department of Education, who tested Participate Chats.
Participate designed the app based on testing and feedback from educators who use both Twitter and Participate’s web-based platform for collecting and sharing classroom ideas and resources. The app gives teachers a way to pause and resume a chat stream and distinguish questions and answers found in an education chat.
