iParadigms, creators of Turnitin® and iThenticate®, has teamed up with Educational Testing Service (ETS) to integrate their e-rater® Scoring Engine technology with Turnitin’s GradeMark online paperless grading tools that allow instructors to mark and comment on student papers.
e-rater uses natural language processing techniques and provides instructors with feedback on grammar, usage, mechanics and style to augment their assessment of student work. Turnitin includes three web-based tools for managing and evaluating written work: OriginalityCheck for plagiarism prevention, PeerMark for online peer reviewing, and GradeMark for paperless grading. ETS’s e-rater technology will be added to Turnitin’s GradeMark tools for commenting on, marking-up and grading papers.
