Edgenuity Expands N.C. History Offerings

Edgenuity announced today that customer schools in North Carolina can now offer its newly-released North Carolina History course to their middle school students.
The new North Carolina History course was designed to help middle school students meet the state standards for eighth grade North Carolina and United States History. Students have the opportunity to develop essential social studies skills, including analyzing primary and secondary sources, interpreting maps, charts, and graphs, and writing for a range of tasks, purposes, and audiences.
Students will learn about the significant events, people and landmarks that have contributed to their home state’s history, including:
- North Carolina native Andrew Jackson becoming the 7th president of the United States
- The Wright brothers making humanity’s first successful flight at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina
- The establishment of Fort Bragg
- North Carolina’s role in the Civil War, Great Depression and civil rights movement
