The latest update to Maplesoft’s Maple Companion app can not only help math students solve a wide assortment of problems and equations on their own but can free the teacher to concentrate on working with students who need assistance or enrichment. The app can help visualize and work through a variety of equations, from integrals and matrices to systems of equations and differentials, all by snapping a photo of the problem, either from a textbook, the blackboard or a homework assignment. It’s free and runs on iOS (iPhones or iPads) as well as Android phones and tablets.
