Welcome to TechLearning's
Roadmap to Second Life

Other Second Life Information

Second Life is a 3-D virtual world that is built and owned by its residents. Today there are more than 6 million people from around the world who create avatars (representations of themselves) and go on to buy land, create virtual environments, communicate with others, and learn.

The potential for teaching and learning and for professional development are first being explored. Technology & Learning is spending time in Second Life and hopes to help you decide on the value for yourself and your school.

Some experts are here to help us. They'll provide tutorials, information, and guidance to all of us as we embark on this journey into virtual living. The first is Ryan Bretag, who is writing much of the material about Second Life. He's also in close touch with our newest TechLearning Blogger, Existential Paine and will offer lessons learned by Existential in Second Life. Meanwhile visit the TechLearning Blog to check out Ex's blog from Second Life.

We hope you'll join us by reading the information as it is posted.

And soon we hope to invite you to join us online in Second Life.

— Gwen Solomon, Director TechLearning
