Leader of the Year Winners
Tech & Learning magazine named four educators as winners in our 26th annual Leader of the Year program. These visionaries exemplified extraordinary education technology leadership, often working with budgetary restrictions and limited resources. Among the winners are a superintendent who used a tech-rich program to lift the morale of a recession-battered community, a tech integration specialist who used communication tools to manage a smooth transition to CCSS, a superintendent who rolled out a 1:1 program despite limited community resources, and an assistant superintendent who created a unique PD program for her entire school community. The 2013 applications were so impressive, we included shout-outs to five additional honorable mention winners.

Awards of Excellence
T&L named 72 education technology products as winners in our 31st annual Awards of Excellence program. Honored software, hardware, network, and Web products include innovative applications that break new ground as well as those that have added significant enhancements to proven education tools. A panel of more than 30 educators, who tested more than 150 entries, chose the winners. The opportunities for using technology in the classroom have never been better, but making purchasing decisions has never been more difficult. We hope that the hard work our judges have performed this year adds insight to our readers’ search for the best solutions.
