Site of the Day

Name: Mrs. Maxwell's Third Grade

Brief Description of the Site:
Lorna Maxwell, a 3rd grade teacher from Westlake Village, CA uses her classroom Web site to communicate with parents, provide activity links for her students, and to share resources with families for classroom projects. She also posts information about classroom procedures, such as how to place a book order or the parent volunteer schedule.

How to use the site:
Parents use the site to access weekly homework assignments, double check on procedures such as asking for homework when a child is ill, and see students' Webfolios. Kids use the page to access online activity links that provide practice in basic skills and to find targeted resources for projects. For families with Internet access, this is a great way for them to stay on top of events and activities in Mrs. Maxwell's class!
